In Memory...
Our classmate and friend, Jim Ramos, passed away May 18th surrounded by his loving family in Thousand Oaks, California, three weeks after a tragic house fire.

Born in San Francisco, Calfornia, on November 4, 1946, he was the first of three sons of Juanita and Bernard Ramos.  His family settled in Cupertino where he attended Fremont and Homestead High Schools.  As a young man, he worked on the Golden Gate Bridge and was a proud member of the Local Ironworkers Union.

Jimmy was a generous and outgoing man who enjoyed hosting many gatherings for friends and family.  He was an artisan, and especially enjoyed woodworking.  He was a devoted San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan.  He especially loved to spend time with his 13 grandchildren.

He is survived by his children; Cammie, of San Jose (grandchildren; Craig, Kyle and Brianna), Lisa, of Seattle (granchildren; Alyssa, Michael and Tyler), and James, also of Seattle.  Stepchildren; Laura (grandchildren; Joey, Angelica, Jessica, Carter and Isabella) and Greg (grandchildren; Grace and Gabriella).  His brother Bob, of Ventura, and his brother Frank, of Missouri, also survive him.

A memorial service will be held in Thousand Oaks this Sunday, May 30, 2010. Another service is planned in San Francisco to be followed by his ashes being scattered at the Golden Gate Bridge, tentatively in June.  Further information is available by email to:   friendsofjimmy2010@yahoo.com
